Lauren and Pete in Ocean City July 5, 2009
Congratulations to Lauren and Pete! We pulled together a fabulous event within 3 weeks and going back and forth by email while the bride and groom were in California. Lauren and their wedding planner Kristin (BelMomento.com) liked the idea of a bamboo arbor and it was something Kristin and I toyed with since this past winter. We thought, "How hard could it be to put one of these together", knowing we see them in all the magazines but no one rented them around here. So in the first photo, you see my awesomely talented and fabulous husband Eric with his tools after finishing the bamboo arbor with about 3 minutes to spare!!! Believe it or not the bamboo came from a neighbor who has a big stash sitting next to a garage drying out. Kristin bought some great fabric, we added orchids and some twine and you see this masterpiece below. Lauren and Pete were ecstatic!!!!!!!!!!! And so were we! I knew my husband's Eagle Scout skills wouldn't fail him and he'd do great. So we would like to announce that Savannah's Garden officially has this awesome bamboo arbor to rent out for any beach ceremony! Feel free to ask if you have any questions about renting this!

Julie's Wedding At the Shore!
What a fabulous venue! The brand new Mallard Island Yacht Club in Manahawkin, NJ, just over the bridge from Long Beach Island, is the most gorgeous place we have been so far! Julie took a more simple approach and it looked awesome!!! Setting the ceremony up was so refreshing, with the sound of the surf and the speed boats and the perfect breeze. What a great day for a wedding!

Creating a Cost Effective Centerpiece
One of my biggest requests is grouping smaller vases together and using different vases on the tables. Each guest or couple can take one home. For an eclectic look, choose containers that are all different and mix colors and textures. Flea markets are great places to search for the perfect vintage touches to a simple garden wedding.

Lavender and Chocolate Make a Hot New Color Combo!
One of the new color combos that I have gotten requests for is lavender and chocolate. You wouldn't think it, but these are gorgeous together. These are two pieces I designed for a recent bridal show and they were the buzz! The top bouquet is designed with Ocean Song roses, chocolate cosmos (which are hugely popular this time of year) and purple uhule (you-hool-ee) fiddles, which appear brown so they compliment the cosmos perfectly!
The second shot is a centerpiece designed with jewel tones. I love the lavender and plums together with the cosmos! To make it pop a little more I added some lime fuji mums and some hot pink dahlias. Both those and the huge dinner plate dahlias are from my garden! Wish i bought more of them!!!

Bling is bigger than ever!
I am so excited to be working with so many girls who love to add extra elements to their flowers! These photos are some examples of what I will be doing in the short months ahead. Also, feathers are super fun to work with and can add awesome texture! Still looks like orange and coral are HUGE and will go into the fall months as well. Let your imaginations run wild!

We're Featured in BRIDES Magazine!!!!!!!!
As you can imagine, I am very excited to have Savannah's Garden featured in BRIDES Magazine for probably my favorite wedding of my career. I had a BLAST doing this and am excited about what feedback this will bring. It is a wonderful feeling to have such an accomplished establishment like Conde Nast feature my work. I am honored. Its very exciting!

The Event of the Year!

An amazing day for the beginning of the official kickoff of wedding season 2008! Jen and Mark held their event in Ocean City on April 12, 2008 at The Flander's Hotel. This had to be my ultimate favorite wedding so far!
I absolutely loved the colors and it is so nice to see that brides are not afraid of color!

Thanks to Kella MacPhee for taking such fabulous photographs! I HIGHLY recommend her!!! www.kellamacphee.com
